Jessica Frances Dukes, Rick Foucheux, Jennifer Mendenhall Featured in Woolly Mammoth Reading of 8
Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company will present a reading of Dustin Lance Black’s 8 on Monday, June 4 at 7pm.
Shakespeare Theatre Company associate director Alan Paul will direct the reading, which will feature Woolly Mammoth company members Jessica Frances Dukes, Rick Foucheux, Jennifer Mendenhall, Eric Sutton, and Emily Townley, with other actors from the Washington, DC theater community.
Chronicling the struggle and legal case to overturn California’s Proposition 8, the one-night-only event is presented with license from the American Foundation for Equal Rights and Broadway Impact. Following the reading, Rea Carey, Executive Director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, Maryland State Senator Richard S. Madaleno, Jr., Human Rights Campaign Legal Director Brian Moulton, and Matt Nosanchuk of the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division will participate in a town-hall-style discussion.
