The first stops have been announced for the 2014 Tony-winning musical A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, which launches its upcoming 44-week national tour on September 19 at Proctor’s Theatre in Schenectady, New York.

The musical will play stops at Chicago’s Bank of America Theatre (September 29-October 11), Tampa’s Straz Center (October 20-25); Washington, D.C.’s The Kennedy Center (January 13-30); Las Vegas’ The Smith Center for the Performing Arts (March 8-13); Los Angeles’ Ahmanson Theatre (March 22-May 1); and Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre (July 12-31), among other stops.

A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder tells the story of Monty Navarro, who has received the news that he is descended from a noble family and could become the next Earl of Highhurst. There are only eight issues standing in his way: the other heirs (all played by a single actor) who precede him in line for the title. What does Monty choose to do? Eliminate them, of course.

Gentleman’s Guide opened at the Walter Kerr Theatre on November 17, 2013, with Tony-nominated performances by Bryce Pinkham, Jefferson Mays, and Lauren Worsham. The show features a Tony-winning book and lyrics by Robert L. Freedman, Tony-nominated music and lyrics by Steven Lutvak, and Tony-winning direction by Darko Tresnjak.
