GALA Hispanic Theater to Present Saulo García’s La Vida en los Esclavos Unidos

The GALA Hispanic Theatre will present the Washington, DC premiere of La vida en los Esclavos Unidos, written and performed by Saulo García. It will be presented exclusively in Spanish at the GALA Theatre on December 9 and 10 at 8pm. A talk-back with García will follow both performances.

La vida en los Esclavos Unidos is a comedic portrayal of immigrants dealing with the financial crisis in the United States and handing the trauma of their visa interviews at the U.S. embassy. Juan Carlos Talero directs.

García is a Colombian writer/performer residing in Miami, Florida. In addition to La vida en los Esclavos Unidos, García’s solo productions have included El insomonio Americano and Al fondo a la derecha. He has been the recipient of several awards including the 2001 Premio Orquídea and the 2011 ACE Award in New York for his performance in La vida en los Esclavos Unidos.
