Francesca Faridany, Robert Stanton Set for Shakespeare Theatre Company's Strange Interlude logo

Shakespeare Theatre Company has announced casting for its production of Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Strange Interlude, to be directed by Michael Kahn at Sidney Harman Hall, March 27-April 29.

In the play, Nina, heartbroken over her adored fiancé's death, engages in a series of sordid affairs before marrying a man she does not love. Months later, pregnant with her husband's child, she learns a horrifying secret about his family, setting off a dramatic and emotional chain of events that spans two decades.

Francesca Faridany will star as Nina, with the cast also featuring Tana Hicken as Mrs. Evans, Robert Stanton as Charles Marsden, and Ted van Griethuysen as Professor Henry Leeds. The company is rounded out by Rachel Spencer Hewitt as Madeline Arnold, Ted Koch as Sam Evans, Jake Land as Young Gordon Evans, Joe Short as Gordon Evans and Baylen Thomas as Ned Darrell.

The design team will include Walt Spangler (set), Aaron Rhyne (projections), Jane Greenwood (costumes), Stephen Strawbridge (lighting), and Fitz Patton (composer/sound).
