Lynn Nottage and the Cast of Broadway's Sweat on Representing a Forgotten City Onstage

Nottage's acclaimed drama comes to Studio 54, complete with love, loyalty, and the mistakes of human life.

In late 2016, Lynn Nottage's drama Sweat had its New York premiere at the Public Theater. Directed by Kate Whoriskey, the work looks at what happens when a valuable American community gets forgotten, and how its proud denizens react to losing their livelihoods. After its sold-out off-Broadway run, the play is moving to Studio 54 on Broadway, with much of its original company. At a recent press junket, they discussed the humanity of the piece and its tribute to the hardworking people of the United States.
