Kerry Washington and Steven Pasquale Bring Empathy and American Son to Broadway
Directed by Kenny Leon, the new play also stars Jeremy Jordan and Eugene Lee.
Christopher Demos-Brown's American Son, which will begin performances on Broadway next month, is set in a Florida police station in the middle of the night, where a mother is searching for her missing teenage son. Directed by Kenny Leon, the production stars Kerry Washington and Steven Pasquale, along with Jeremy Jordan and Eugene Lee. Described as "a gripping tale of two parents caught in our national divide," Washington told TheaterMania that she hopes the new play will "give people empathy superpowers."
