A Day With Norm Lewis, Broadway's Phantom of the Opera
TheaterMania goes behind the scenes at the Majestic Theatre with the longtime Broadway leading man.
Norm Lewis made history in May 2014 when he became the first African-American actor to star as the Phantom of the Opera on Broadway in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical at the Majestic Theatre. It's a role that Lewis, a Tony nominee for The Gershwins' Porgy & Bess and a cast member of nine other Broadway shows, has always wanted to play, and he's making the most of his run. TheaterMania went backstage to spend a day with Lewis as he got himself ready for a two-show day, from greeting his fellow cast members to getting suited up with the infamous Phantom mask.
