Established in 1983, Raven Theatre is a grass-roots, community-oriented, professional theater company. Raven Theatre's mission is to establish itself as an important voice in regional theater focusing on projects that shed light on the "American Experience" while being an integral player contributing to the well-being of its own community. The company's mission is realized by sustaining a high standard of artistic excellence with programming easily accessible to patrons of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds, thereby aiding in the revitalization of the community's cultural identity.
Raven Theatre presents a full season of professional, non-Equity mainstage shows, experimental "Shorties," children's theater and free workshop productions. Mainstage shows average four performances per week with initial runs of 6-8 weeks. "Shorties" play three nights a week for four-week runs. Children's theater productions are presented on weekends at noon. Workshops are given a week of free performances that are followed by audience discussion.
