Tony Kushner, Morris Panych, Suzan-Lori Parks, et al. Set for Shaw Festival’s The Speed of Ideas: Shaw in the 21st Century

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwrights Tony Kushner and Suzan-Lori Parks are among the artists scheduled to take part in The Speed of Ideas: Shaw in the 21st Century, a theatrical forum, a conference to be offered July 23-24 at the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.

The conference will cover such topics as “Playwrights Inspired by Shaw,” “Reviving the Female Voice,” and “Directing Shaw.”

Other artists taking part in panels during the conference will be Canadian playwrights Linda Griffiths, Michael Healey, Ann-Marie MacDonald, John Murrell; directors Philip Akin, Jackie Maxwell, Christopher Newton, Alisa Palmer, Morris Panych and Lisa Peterson; actors Benedict Campbell, Diana Donnelly, Sharry Flett, Deborah Hay, Claire Jullien, Jim Mezon, Graeme Somerville and Blair Williams, as well as theater critic Michael Billington.
