Piper Laurie is set to direct Jim Brochu’s Ovation Award winning play Zero Hour, June 18-July 27, at the Broward Stage Door Theatre. Jim Brochu will star as Zero Mostel, and Laurie has been a creative member of the show since its inception.

In the play, a naïve reporter attempts to interview Mostel, prompting an explosion of memory, humor, outrage, and backstage lore. In the piece, Mostel is remembered for his comedic genius and his definitive roles. The July 2006 premiere of Zero Hour won the L.A. Ovation Award for best world premiere play as well as garnering Ovation and Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle nominations for Brochu as both actor and playwright. It has since played in San Francisco, Houston, Tucson, San Diego and Boston.
