Brad Oscar, Jevon McFerrin, and More to Star in Ken Ludwig's The Gods of Comedy

McCarter Theatre Center will present the world premiere of this new comedy from the ”Lend Me a Tenor” playwright.

McCarter Theatre Center has announced the cast and creative team for its world premiere of Ken Ludwig's The Gods of Comedy, directed by Amanda Dehnert, running March 12-31 at the Matthews Theatre, with opening night set for Saturday, March 16.

Jessie Cannizzaro (Puffs), Steffanie Leigh (Broadway's Mary Poppins), Jevon McFerrin (Hamilton), Keira Naughton (Broadway's The Rivals), Brad Oscar (Something Rotten!), George Psomas (South Pacific), and Shay Vawn (Soot and Spit at the New Ohio Theatre) will star in the production. The creative team will include Jason Sherwood (scenic designer), Linda Roethke (costume designer), Brian Gale (lighting designer), Darron L. West (sound designer), Carissa Thorlakson (wig designer), Jim Steinmeyer (special effects designer).

Ludwig's play is described as follows: "A young Classics professor puts her career — and her love life — in peril, and calls on the gods of Ancient Greece to save her. Things don't go according to plan when the gods who show up are The Gods of Comedy!"
