About This Show

A stylish and mesmerizing singer, Karen Mason can easily switch from brassy to blues, bright high notes to muted low ones, wringing meaning out of every moment. Her intelligence, range and breadth of vocal color bring the house down. Time Out/NY wrote, “When Mason sings, all I can say is gimme, gimme, gimme!” Although Mason may be best known for her Broadway appearances, she’s also spent years headlining in such New York venues as Rainbow & Stars, the Algonquin and the Russian Tea Room, and at the Cinegrill in L.A. and the Plush Room in San Francisco. Blessed with a rich and expressive voice, she won the 2004 MAC Award for Major Female Vocalist of the Year and garnered a 2002 Drama Desk Nomination for her role in Broadway’s Mamma Mia! She also starred in Sunset Boulevard, which she performed to critical acclaim and standing ovations on Broadway and in Los Angeles. Other New York credits include Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, Play Me A Country Song, Torch Song Trilogy, and And the World Goes Round, for which she was awarded an Outer Critics Circle Award.
