About This Show

Set amidst the decadence of pre-war fascist Germany, Bent is a powerful tale of the tragedy of love, as three men fight for survival in the face of Nazi persecution. It illustrates how the selfless love of one person for another can overcome oppression, even under the most extreme circumstances. Alan Cumming and Chris New star. This production features an original song by Chris Lowe (of the Pet Shop Boys), performed to Martin Sherman’s lyrics. Daniel Kramer directs.

Bent received its world premiere in London at the Royal Court Theatre in 1979 and was then revived at the National Theatre. It was recently voted one of the top 100 plays of the 20th century by the National Theatre. It redefined the notion of love and the lengths we go to protect those we love.
