The Old Vic Theatre Company presents a pantomime story of Aladdin and the magic lamp. Widow Twankey, her no-good son Wishee Washee, and the Chinese laundry usually provide the slapstick. Following last year’s sell-out success, Ian McKellen returns to The Old Vic as Widow Twankey, the ultimate pantomime dame. He’s joined by Roger Allam as Abbanazar and Frances Barber as Dim Sum. Sean Mathias directs this classic show for all the family.
‘Ian McKellen is the mother of all Twankeys. A wicked, comic pleasure.’ — Evening Standard
