Who Stole My Dead Husband?

About the Show

Who Stole My Dead Husband? is a tribute to growing up Italian in Brooklyn, New York. The experience is very difficult to put into words. How do you explain crazy? More happens to an Italian family in one day than happens to most people in a lifetime, at least that’s how I remember it. Here are a few more things that I remember; you call pasta “macaroni,” sauce is called “gravy,” nobody makes meatballs as good as your mother, talking loud is normal, you argue about everything, you eat macaroni on Sunday, you learned how to play the spoons as a kid, your friends are referred to as goombahs and your favorite musicians were Lou Monte, Louis Prima and of course, Frank Sinatra. Brooklyn Italian is more than just having a parent or grandparent who was from Italy. It’s a faith, a religion that asks you to suspend disbelief to the point of absurdity.
