About This Show

Julie Jensen’s Two-Headed covers forty years of a friendship between Lavinia and Hettie, beginning when they are ten years old. The play begins in Utah in 1857 — the year over 100 California-bound immigrants were killed in what would become known as the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Lavinia believes that the emigrants heading West were killed, while Hettie believes they are only hiding. The massacre haunts them both in different ways as they grow older, and deal with the demands of pioneer life and the Mormon religion, including polygamy that almost destroys their friendship. Barbara Krajkowski directs.
