Thoroughly Modern Millie

It’s 1922, the era of flappers and sunny possibilities, especially for women entering the workforce in droves. Millie Dillmount has just arrived in Manhattan from Kansas. Sporting a new hairdo and fashions befitting a thoroughly modern girl, she sets out to get a job. Her next step is finding a wealthy husband – perhaps her handsome boss, Trevor Grayson. Millie’s plans get muddled, however, when she meets Jimmy Smith, a charming, cheery paperclip salesman who is fun to be with, but oh so poor. Plus, there’s something strange going on at her residence, the Priscilla Hotel for Women, where orphaned girls have a habit of disappearing.
