About This Show

Crossroads Theatre Company kicks off its 2005-2006 season with the return of New Jersey’s own Savion Glover in The Hoofers Club. This innovative play with music and dance was conceived by Glover who also stars in the world premiere. This marks the second time that Glover is launching a new piece at Crossroads — the first being Savion Glover & Friends in 1997 which was the basis for his dance troop NYOT (Not Your Ordinary Tappers) which went on to tour internationally. As a young tap phenomenon, Glover made his Broadway debut at age 10, starring in The Tap Dance Kid. Additional Broadway credits include Black and Blue and Jelly’s Last Jam with Gregory Hines. He won a Tony Award in 1996 for his choreography in Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring in ‘Da Funk.
