About This Show

Paul Robeson (1898-1976), a successful scholar, athlete, performer, and activist, believed in the universality of music and that by performing African-American spirituals and other cultures’ folk songs, he could promote intercultural understanding. Derrick McQueen narrates the life of this great man and sings the songs he sang. Admission is free due to a grant from the NJ Council for the Humanities.
