Maurice: Mr. Lambertier left quickly – as if he didn’t belong.
Valerie: Perhaps he thought he didn’t – an old man, with a newly married couple. Lambertier is a man of many responsibilities, and of many moods.
Maurice: Maybe one of his moods is to dislike me intensely.
