About This Show

Celebrate Veteran’s Day with In The Mood, a retro 1940s musical. More than a concert, the show is a throwback to the last time the entire country shared a common popular music. Swing helped sustain national morale during World War II, and in commemoration of the war’s 50th Anniversary, the National Archives in D.C. brought In the Mood to their audiences. The response was extraordinary (the engagement was extended twice), and since then In The Mood has toured across the U.S., visited Europe, and, in 1997, was selected to be part of the 53rd Presidential Inauguration Ball. In the Mood features a live big band, swing dancers, and boogie-woogie singers – as well as the music of Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Frank Sinatra, and more.
