About This Show

Based on the life of Danny Kaye and wife, Sylvia, the story was written by Robert McElwaine, publicist and confidant to Danny Kaye for 20 years. The musical follows the rise of Danny Kaye from an undisciplined improvisational comic to his success at the London Paladium in 1948, under the guidance of Sylvia Fine, mentor, wife, and manager, as well as composer of his most famous songs. It explores both the romance and conflict that made them such a volatile and successful couple. Hear many of Danny’s hit songs including “Tchaikovsky,” “Minnie the Moocher,” and “Deena.”

Brian Childers reprises the role of Danny Kaye, and Amie Bermowitz performs the role of Sylvia Fine. Featuring additional music written by Bob Bain. Shari Upbin directs and choreographs.
