About this show

This farce-within-a-farce about actors acting as actors acting characters is a theatrical joyride, hailed by Frank Rich when it first opened "one of the most sustained slapstick ballets I've ever seen." The phrase "Noises Off" is theatre jargon for a commotion offstage. But in Noises Off, the commotion is onstage, created by a troupe of has-been and never were actors touring a dreadful British sex farce called Nothing On. Michael Frayn (the brilliant author of Copenhagen) gives us a backstage, and onstage, peek at a disastrous show in which every actor's nightmare unfolds with uproarious results. Richard Seyd directs. There will be no performance on Christmas eve, Friday, December 24, Christmas day, Saturday, December 25, or New Year's Day, Saturday, January 1.
