Jason Grote’s dark comedy is a hysterical take on dysfunctional family life that incorporates ghosts, German poetry, and supernatural fax machines that reveal all. Based on Friedrich Schiller’s classic tale of warring queens, Grote’s sometimes chilling, sometimes hilarious tale peals back the tough outer membrane of family life, exposing the hidden pithy core at heart. Recently premiered at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in Washington DC, Theater Schmeater’s production will mark a West Coast Premiere.
