About This Show

“Oh, what a heart so true.
What a cowboy wouldn’t do.
I know that I’ve got to make her mine.”

A new American musical en route to Broadway sets Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor in post-Civil War Texas. Confederate “Colonel” John Falstaff slathers his charms on the wives of two wealthy cattle ranchers, with an eye on their husbands’ land and money. But who’s fooling whom?

The acclaimed Red Clay Ramblers (the jazz-rock-blues string band behind Fool Moon) — onstage as Falstaff’s sidekicks — provide a stampede of foot-stompin’ tunes to dirt-kickin’ dances. Lone Star Love packs Texas-sized laughs, wily women, family feuds, country ballads and a yodeling cowboy into a fun-loving night of musical merriment.

Conceived and adapted by John L. Haber; Music and Lyrics by Jack Herrick; With contributions from Michael Bogdanov, Bland Simpson and Tommy Thompson
