About This Show

Seattle Repertory Theatre, in association with Missouri Repertory Theatre, presents Lisa Loomer’s poignant and funny drama Living Out. Directed by Seattle Rep’s Artistic Director, Sharon Ott, the comic
drama centers around Ana, an illegal Salvadoran immigrant with children of her own, who takes a job as a nanny to the newborn child of harried entertainment lawyer Nancy. Both Nancy and Ana are well-educated; both have husbands who do not understand why their wives feel the need to work; both want to be good parents; and both women are less-than-honest with their employers in order to keep their jobs and move up. This hilarious and heart-wrenching play looks at the very contemporary issue of who cares for your children while you’re out making a living.
