Doubt — A Parable

In this social climate of polarized certainties, John Patrick Shanley’s Pulitzer prize winning play, DOUBT, resonates with political relevance. The increasingly certain Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, pursues the destruction of Father Flynn who has spent questionable time with an underprivileged black school boy. Without proof or support, she forces her heartfelt agenda to it’s disastrous conclusion.

Ben Brantley of The New York Times called it “an inspired study of moral certainty with the compelling structure of an old-fashioned detective drama… tight and absorbing, one of the year’s ten best plays”

The design team includes John Epperson (Sound Design), Mishka Navarre-Huff (Costumes), Christopher Scofield (Lights), with Paul O’Connell as Production Manager.

At Theatre 9/12, trained and working actors, both union and non-union, continue to develop their talents and skills through workshops and performances. Their efforts climax with productions presented through the Actors’ Equity Association Members’ Project Code. Theatre 9/12 staff assists these union actors in making these projects come to life.
