First Seen, the Bay Area’s producing playwright’s collective, presents the world premiere of Unhampered by Sanity, by Kerry Reid. Set in a Paris hotel room, the play provides a surreal collision between the worlds of punk rock and Dada through two women on the cultural edge; an infamous widow on the verge of self-destruction, and the Baroness Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven, considered by many to be the mother of American Dada, and dubbed “America’s First Punk” by art historian Robert Hughes.
