About This Show

Set in 1911 New York, Syncopation is the story of Henry, a meat packer for a Kosher butcher shop, who places an ad in a newspaper for a dance partner, and Anna, a garment factory worker longing for more in life, who responds to the ad. The play’s dance-filled scenes show the transformation of the characters ballroom dancing abilities along with subtle changes in their relationship, all set against the political and social background of the times.
