About This Show

Papa is Pulitzer Prize-winner John deGroot’s script about Ernest Hemingway in his twilight years. The play uses Hemingway’s own words to vividly paint a revealing picture of a truly iconic figure. The audience gets a press pass to Papa Hemingway’s Cuban home as he recounts his past and allows an up front and personal exchange that sets this play apart from other solo performances. The actor, Adrian Sparks, portraying Papa Hemingway both bears a striking resemblance to, and fully embodies the famous figure in spirit. The play comes to the Eureka from an Ovation award winning run in Los Angeles.
