About This Show

Karen Macklin’s play, Mr. President, starts off as a seemingly absurd comedy about a dysfunctional family in Tallahassee during the time of a major presidential election. But when a cat becomes president of the United States, strange things start to happen, and it quickly turns into a dark and perilous journey that examines our social and political world through the eyes of two children who come to represent the conflicting forces of nature. This staged reading is open to the public. Donations are suggested.
