Mary’s Wedding

San Jose Repertory Theatre presents the U.S. Premiere of Mary’s Wedding, the award-winning play by Stephen Massicotte that took Canadian theater by storm. The play is a haunting romance about a young Canadian couple torn apart by World War I. Mary, newly arrived from England, seeks shelter in a rural Alberta barn during a fierce thunderstorm and unexpectedly meets Charlie, a handsome young farm boy. The year is 1914 and an even more malevolent storm is sweeping across Europe. Told as a recurring dream, the lines of reality and fantasy blur as scenes of innocent first love intermingle with the bloody battlefields of France.
