About This Show

Collaborators Angelo D’Agostino and G. Scott Lacy have won over cabaret thirsty audiences far and wide with their most popular musical review. Subtitled “Boys, Booze & The Majesty of the Blues,” Lush Life is the namesake of Billy Strayhorn’s most popular tune, and since its conception, has become a concert event with crowds cheering from coast to coast. Part history lesson, with equal emphasis on mischief and improvisation, the show is a musical journey that incorporates the heart and soul of some of the best jazz and blues standards ever written. Pulling from their backgrounds in stage performance and theatre, Lacy adds flawless musical direction and arrangement to the soundscape while D’Agostino’s vocal styling and storytelling harkens back to the days of the Cotton Club.
The show is a charged cabaret performance – a nod not only to the era in which most of the music was written, but also to the overall idea of looking intimately into the heart, soul and voice of someone in love. It is a seamless presentation – and a gentle reminder that for all the pain in love, this is still, truly, a very Lush Life.
