Arizona Theatre Company and Herberger Theater Center presents the Phoenix premiere of The Guys, a new play by Anne Nelson written in response to the tragic events on September 11, 2001. The Guys will be presented for one performance only on September 11, 2002 at 8 PM. Admission is free and seating is on a first come, first served basis. The play is a result of Nelson's real-life experiences in the wake of September 11. Nelson is director of the international program at Columbia's journalism school, where she helped a New York firefighter write eulogies for the men he lost on September 11. She turned this experience into a play, in which a fire captain, who lost most of his men in the attack, seeks the help of an editor, who is struggling herself to come to terms with the event, to write the eulogies. The production will feature Valley radio and television personality Pat McMahon and Patti Davis Suarez, seen at ATC in My Fair Lady.
