About This Show

The Arizona Theatre Company presents Nilo Cruz’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, Anna in the Tropics. In the oppressive heat of a 1920s south Florida cigar factory, the cold world of Anna Karenina settles over the landscape like thick tobacco smoke. A dashing Cuban lector is hired to read the novel aloud to the cutters, bunchers and rollers in the factory. But his presence ignites passionate and painful fires smoldering inside a young dreamer, a forgotten wife, and a rejected husband, all yearning for their own kind of love.
