About This Show

This is the true story of Philadelphia’s own Francis Biddle, Attorney General under Franklin D. Roosevelt. At age 81, Biddle is struggling to complete his memoirs. His wife has forced upon him a new secretary named Sarah, who is all of 25 years old. Sarah, a feisty and plain-spoken girl, finds Biddle’s irritable and argumentative nature a
‘trying’ experience. Based on the playwright’s own real-life experiences, Trying is a funny and bittersweet look at the healing power of companionship, aging, and rebirth.
