About This Show

In A Daughter’s Eyes is an intense and timely new drama inspired by the true story of Mumia Abu-Jamal, who was convicted and sentenced to death for the 1981 murder of Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner and whose case still stirs heated passion in both supporters and opponents of his conviction. Set in Oakland, CA around the turn of the millennium, In A Daughter’s Eyes follows the fictional story of two daughters – one the child of a Black Panther revolutionary and the other of the white police officer he allegedly shot and killed some twenty years earlier. Despite a genuine desire to find common ground, these two strong-minded women are forever tied to each other through the legal, political and personal fallout from this controversial urban tragedy. Unable to extricate themselves from the cycle of racism and mistrust that has defined their families’ legacies, these quintessentially American daughters must find a balance between justice and forgiveness.
