New York City
New York’s acclaimed musical comedy team returns with their two hit revues!
Imagine Nichols & May meet Comden & Green and you get the delightful combo O’Connor & Vogel. Charming audiences with their lighthearted electricity and musical spark, this dynamic pair reinvents cabaret and theatre revue. Now appearing at Odette’s Cabaret (274 South River Road) in New Hope, Pennsylvania on June 9 and 10 at 8:00 pm, O’Connor & Vogel bring their wit, comedy, and musical talent to Bucks County.
Performing their two sold out shows from New York City, Guy and Doll (June 9), and How To Be Perfect (June 10), O’Connor & Vogel have been called “masters at their craft,” by Cabaret Hotline Online. Blending the best of sketch comedy and character duets, they create the hilarious and often touching portrayals of joy and heartbreak in relationships today.
Featuring songs from the American masters, these miniature musical comedies amusingly reveal the many sides of love. Guy and Doll, with music from legends Jule Styne, Irving Berlin, Maltby & Shire and others, depicts the age-old battle between the sexes. Starting with seduction, the show spans the rollercoaster of emotions in courtship — from fear of commitment and jealousy to joyful resignation and exhilaration. How To Be Perfect, presenting the songs of Charles Strouse, Kander & Ebb, Jonathan Larson and other greats, asks: “Is there such a thing as a perfect relationship?” This tongue-in-cheek musical guide suggests how to navigate the dangerous minefield of romance.
