About This Show

The Community Theatre presents The Princess and the Pea, a musical adaptation of the beloved Hans Christian Anderson tale.

In The Princess and the Pea, Prince Erik searches the world over to find a princess to marry, but all potential wives are either too mean or too silly.
He returns home sad and disappointed. The spirited Princess Astrid arrives at the castle late one night. King Olaf, Erik’s father, decides to put her through a series of trials to see if she is really royalty. From spending a night in a haunted tower to test her courage, to being locked in the treasury to test her honesty, Astrid passes with flying colors. Finally, she sleeps on a stack of 20 mattresses. Unbeknownst to her, the Queen has placed a tiny pea under the mattresses. A real princess would be able to feel the small lump through all of the cushions — will Astrid pass the test and marry the prince?
