About this show

The Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma (Rome Symphony Orchestra) was founded in November 2002. Currently, the Orchestra numbers 65 instrumentalists, most of whom are under the age of 30, and many of whom are recognized soloists. For its first two seasons, the Orchestra performed at the Teatro Argentina of Rome, giving 160 concerts with approximately 80 different programs. This earned the orchestra positive recognition from the press and their audiences, leading to completely sold-out performances. The orchestra has collaborated with the Coro della Scala di Milano, London Symphony Chorus, Paul Badura-Skoda, Bruno Canino, Mischa Maisky, Shlomo Mintz, Aldo Ciccolini, and many other illustrious artists and ensembles. Among its presentations have been productions of Verdi's La traviata and Rigoletto and Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia, as well as numerous recordings and performances on tour, from St Petersburg to Brussels.
