About This Show

Enjoy a few of your favorite things in a delightfully different way! Founded in 1913, the Salzburg Marionette Theater has since enchanted audiences around the globe with performances of legendary operas, magical fairy tales, and intricate ballets. This exquisite troupe returns to NJPAC’s Victoria Theater to spin new magic with the world premiere of a unique production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s beloved The Sound of Music.

This world premiere production is set to an entirely new recording of the full Rodgers and Hammerstein score, voiced by a cast that features Tony-nominated Broadway regulars Christiane Noll, of Jekyll & Hyde and off-Broadway’s new Frankenstein, and Martin Vidnovic, a Drama Desk winner for Baby, in the roles of Maria and Captain von Trapp. Jonathan Groff, a 2007 Tony nominee for Spring Awakening, and Christa Moore, who scored nods for both Big and the Tyne Daly incarnation of Gypsy, take on multiple roles for this new recording.
