About This Show

Miss Saigon is the story of two young lovers torn apart by the fortunes of destiny and held together by a burning passion and the fate of a small child during the final days leading up to the American evacuation of Saigon. Originally produced by Cameron Mackintosh in London in 1989, the New York production opened in 1991 and became the sixth longest running show on Broadway when it closed in 2001. The production received 11 Tony Award nominations in 1991, including Best Muscial, and won three. It has been performed in 13 countries in eight different languages, and has been seen by more than 28 million people worldwide, more than 13.2 million in North America alone.
