About This Show

Joan Rivers takes no prisoners when she dishes the dirt at The Community Theatre for one night only.

Long before one generation has gotten to know Joan Rivers as the person who critiques celebrity wardrobes at the Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards and Emmy Awards, Joan Rivers was one of the pioneers of women’s stand-up comedy. Since her first appearance on The Tonight Show in 1965, she has helped to open the door for the women who have followed in her footsteps. By 1968, she had a syndicated daytime talk show, one of the first on TV, and her many appearances on The Tonight Show and The Ed Sullivan Show made her a household name. In 1989, she returned to New York, where she starred in the Neil Simon play Broadway Bound and got her own syndicated daytime talk show, winning an Emmy Award in the process.
