About This Show

Catch! includes the traditional juggling of items such as sickles, hatches and meat cleavers. For fans of the bizarre and unexpected, there is the perennial favorite, ‘The Gamble’, where the audience brings whatever objects that they think will prove unjugglable, betting a standing ovation against a pie in the face that it can’t be done. ‘Taiko Festival Drumming’, paying tribute to this popular Asian art form, is performed on cardboard boxes. Moving from the ridiculous to the even more ridiculous, the Flying Karamazov Brothers will perform the ‘Polish Appalachian Clog Dance’ in which a Polish miner, his long suffering wife, his rebellious son and his slatternly daughter sum up the Social Realist vision of the American immigrant experience through dance. The finale, ‘Nine Objects of Danger’, includes a block of dry ice to a blazing torch to a bottle of champagne, the juggling of which will perfectly wrap up an utterly unique evening of theatrical insanity.
