About the Show
On July 3rd at Watford Football Club Stadium, North London, Sir Elton John performing his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour gave a great shout out to (now, North Carolina resident) Ray Williams. “Thanks to the guy who started the whole thing off – Ray Williams and Liberty Records”. Ray discovered Elton, introduced him to Bernie Taupin and managed him for his first 5 albums. Ray is also known for discovering many other artists Like Jeff Lynne of ELO and Gerry Rafferty. Elton is the honorary chairman of the football club.
The Sanford Music Circle, co-founded by Ray, has been promoting The Writer's Round, performing in area clubs and restaurants, documenting progress of artists and, as always, connecting with mentors. For more info visit: www.sanfordmusiccircle.com
The success of The Writer's Round caught the eye of film makers, and now, on August 25th at 7pm at the historic Temple Theatre in Sanford a musical documentary is being filmed! Eldorado Road Productions, in collaboration with the The Sanford Music Circle, will film a feature event featuring big names in film and music along with local area talent.

Award winning actor, writer and director, Chris Mulkey has a long and diverse career in film, television, stage. Chris is best known for “On The Basis of Sex”, “Whiplash”, “Captain Philips”, “Twin Peaks”, “The Purge” and many more. Chris is also a songwriter with original songs featured in film and television and can be seen playing around the country with his band Chris Mulkey and Deluxe.
Britton Buchanan, the runner up of season 14 of “The Voice” is a singer song writer with pop sensibilities and heartland roots. Britton has written songs with Rob Thomas, JD Souther, Alicia Keys, Kevin Griffin and many more.
Frank Bruno from Wilmington draws his song writing inspiration from many generations of artists: Springsteen, Mark Knopfler, Wilco and folk Americana artists. Frank was a member of the Grammy Award winning 2006, “Bruce Springsteen and The Seeger Sessions Band”.
Paige King Johnson, from Angier, Paige’s debut single “Water Down The Whiskey” climbed to #29 spot on Music Row Charts, she has worked with Pam Tillis, Scotty McCreery and other great Nashville music royalty.
John Norris, a founding member of the Sanford Writer's Round, burst onto the country music scene. His down home songs have strong country roots are fresh and relatable to all ages of country music fans.
Jason Adamo a Raleigh resident performer and songwriter he recently received a RIAA Gold Platinum Plaque for writing Brett Young’s song “Beautiful Believer” on his debut album.
HG Murrell of Charlotte studied songwriting at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and won a songwriting lesson with Sir Paul McCartney for “Best Music and Lyrics”. Erik Hawks a North Carolina native spent five years writing songs with the Raleigh based Young Yonder band.
Chad Spivey will be the host and will also be playing, along side some other special guest appearances.
