The Huntington Village Theater Company presents stage readings of the 3 finalist plays in its 2002 New Play Contest for Long Island Playwrights:
September 27: 6-Pack, a one-act play by Charles Bjorklund of Brooklyn Heights about a man looking back at a sexually charged situation in his youth. Director – Arlene Merschat.
October 25: Co-op Murder Mystery, a contemporary comedy by Carey Lovelace of Amagansett about the negative feelings that emerge in friendships when something personally important is at stake. Director – Catherine Bolz.
November 22: Valadon, a historical drama by Nicholas Nappi of Rocky Point about the artist Maurice Utrillo and the efforts of his mother, Suzanne Valadon, to help him overcome mental illness. Director – Michael Romanelli.
Each event will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be followed by a playwright-led Q&A session.
