York Theater Gala
About the Show
At its annual gala benefit, The York Theater Company presents Carol Channing with The Oscar Hammerstein Award for lifetime achievement in musical theatre. Hosted by Honorary Chairs Jerry Herman and Liz Smith, the award is presented as the highlight of the gala concert evening, which begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction at 6pm. The York Theater Gala includes performances by Avenue Q, Kristin Chenoweth, Debra Monk and others at 7pm, and concludes with a festive champagne dinner with the cast, including a brief live auction and entertainment to follow. The evening benefits the York Theater’s Developmental Reading Series and education programs.
