About the Show
Suzana Stankovic, actress, dancer, director, choreographer and one-woman powerhouse of daring creativity, set to unveil an excerpt from her new dance-theatre work, Super Girl on November 15th, 2008 in New York City. Also on the program are Desire & Sacrifice and Purple Sparkle. These three dance-theatre works compromise an exclusive sneak-peek preview performance.
What’s so super about Super Girl? For starters, this girl’s on a mission, quite literally.
“I was born to inspire humanity to look deep within and break the chains of complacency, internal deadness, limitation and fear that have stifled our vast potential, both personal and global.” – Suzana Stankovic (from her personal mission statement).
But Super Girl can’t do this alone. Alongside Suzana, Super Girl features a big, obnoxious tough guy and your typical wormy urban pervert. The setting is Central Park, NY. The male characters serve as symbols of fear and doubt highlighting the power of these emotions to hold us back in life. Following a series of events and interactions between the three characters, none of which cannot be revealed at this time, Super Girl’s message strikes loud and clear: THE POWER IS WITHIN YOU. DARE.
