About This Show

That’s Craig Meade, T. Scott Lilly, Juan Villegas & Daniel Wilkes Kelley. Wise Guise are back to present a brand new show. Sketches, songs, scenes & always a dance are sure to delight, amuse and maybe even make ya think! Back in 1991, Craig, Scott, Juan & Dan first got together for a benefit for TNC’s Street Theater. This led to the creation of Wise Guise and their first run in TNC’s Cabaret Theater, where New York Magazine called them “Vaudeville for the nineties.”

What followed were more shows, a variety of venues: Home (now Here), PS 122, NADA, The Puffin, The Duplex, Don’t Tell Mama, and a fine time had by all. The Village Voice said, “Ebullent cultural satire…Refreshingly un-neurotic.” In 2001, their show at TNC’s Joe Cino Theater received praise from Chip Deffaa of the New York Post. “If you haven’t met Wise Guise yet, you should…Wildly entertaining.” Their quirky, silly version of The Raven (where Lieutenant Columbo entraps Edgar Allen Poe) has become a TNC Halloween Tradition. And now, they’re back in the space where it all started, TNC’s downstairs Cabaret. Scenic Goddess Myrna Duarte is back as well as the masterful skills of Ian Gordon. This all adds up anexciting event that you really don’t want to miss.
