On August 14, 2003, the lights went out in New York City. Scarlet Kane, a 27 year- old fashion writer with a penchant for designer shoes, epic sex and valium, steps away from her desk and looks out at a city that’s suddenly different. In the midst of a darkened summer night, from a midtown office building to an East Village bar to a chance meeting with a grieving father, Scarlet’s life is about to change. Scarlet Sees the Light is about the speed at which we travel through the modern world and how the small, seemingly innocuous things in life, can have a cataclysmic impact on us.
This performance is presented as part of the New York International Fringe Festival.
